The Cost of Keeping the Doors Open

April 2026 brings another National Living Wage uplift, and UK energy bills remain significantly higher than their pre-2023 baseline. Hospitality operating costs — staffing, utilities, ongoing maintenance — have been grinding upward for three years. We checked all 37 UK gay sauna listings this month, and five venues have made genuine price adjustments.

Gay saunas aren’t simply commercial leisure venues. For a lot of gay and bisexual men they’re among the very few places in the country where you can be openly yourself — no performance required, no explaining yourself, no looking over your shoulder.

Venues that do this well invest heavily in the environment: real steam, clean facilities, trained staff, equipment that actually works. That costs serious money.

When prices move by a pound or two, it’s almost always the cost of keeping that standard intact. That’s worth naming directly. For a full picture of what UK gay saunas charge, see our gay sauna costs and entry fees guide.

Five Venues With Price Increases This Month

Our checks found five venues with genuine price increases in April 2026. Here’s the full picture.

Pleasuredrome, London made a targeted adjustment to its concession rate. Under-30s entry has moved from £18 to £20. Standard entry remains at £25.

Sweatbox Soho, London has restructured its entire pass range — every tier has moved. The 24-Hour Pass goes from £24 to £25; the 48-Hour Pass from £29 to £30; the Weekly Pass from £50 to £55; the Monthly Pass from £95 to £99; the Annual Pass from £950 to £999; and the Under-25 Pass from £16 to £17.

Covent Garden Health Spa, London has increased its under-30s entry from £13 to £15.

Just For You, Birmingham has raised standard entry from £13 to £15.

W3 Sauna, Blackpool has moved Single Admission from £12 to £13 and its Day Pass from £15 to £16.

One Venue Just Made Sundays Free

While prices move up elsewhere, Steamer Quay in Torquay has gone the other way. Sunday entry was previously a discounted £10 for under-30s — it’s now completely free for anyone aged 31 and under, with the age bracket widened at the same time. Valid photo ID is required on the door.

For the South West, where options are genuinely limited, that’s a meaningful gesture. Steamer Quay runs a varied weekly programme, and a free Sunday says something about how the venue sees its role in the community.

What This Reflects

These venues run hot pools, steam rooms, saunas and licensed spaces around the clock. They employ staff, maintain equipment, and provide something mainstream leisure doesn’t come close to — a safe, genuinely affirming environment for gay and bi men.

As costs rise across UK hospitality, these modest adjustments reflect that reality. We check all 37 listings every month so you always know what to expect before you go.
