Gentry Spa – Hull

Gentry Spa is a gay sauna and bathhouse for men at 17 Scott Street in Kingston upon Hull (HU2 8AR). Open since June 2017, the venue spans three floors and is significantly larger than its modest street-level exterior suggests. Facilities include a 15-person dry sauna, an 8-person steam room, three hot tubs (two internal, one on an outdoor terrace), a dungeon, sling room, glory holes, adult cinema, private booths, and a fully licensed pub-style bar on the ground floor. Open seven days a week from midday (Monday to Thursday and weekends), with a late-night session on Thursdays until 10pm. Fridays run as an evening-only session from 7pm to midnight (Midnight Express — male only). Entry starts from £5 for students and under-25s. No membership required — free soft drinks are included with every entry.

Gentry Spa is the only gay sauna currently operating in Hull. It serves a catchment that extends well beyond the city itself, pulling visitors from across the East Riding of Yorkshire and the Humber region. Beverley is around 15 minutes by car, Bridlington about 40 minutes, Scarborough roughly an hour, and Grimsby around 30 minutes across the Humber Bridge. York — about 45 minutes west on the A1079 — has no gay sauna of its own, and men from there regularly make the journey east to Hull.

Scott Street sits close to the city centre with free on-street parking nearby, and Hull Paragon Interchange is walkable, giving the venue strong rail connections to Leeds, Doncaster, and the wider Yorkshire network. For anyone searching for a gay sauna in Hull, East Yorkshire, or the Humber area, Gentry Spa on Scott Street is where you’ll end up.

Gentry Spa is arranged across three floors, with spaces zoned for wellness, socialising, and privacy.

The ground floor has the main wet area: a 15-person dry sauna, an 8-person steam room with high heat and humidity, two internal climate-controlled hot tubs, and communal showers with disco lighting. A pub-style social lounge with a fully licensed bar serves as the main social space — visitors can have a drink before, during, or after their sauna session. Adapted toilet facilities and changing rooms with secure lockers are on this floor.

Outdoor Terrace

A south-facing sun terrace on the ground floor has a 6-person external hot tub and a clothing-optional outdoor area for tanning and socialising in warmer months. This is an unusual feature for a venue of this size and is one of Gentry Spa’s distinguishing elements.

Play and Private Spaces

The first floor has a video lounge with an adult cinema, private cabins, and glory holes, plus a large dark area with additional private cabins and a group play bed. The second floor provides more cruising areas, a video play room, and further private cabins. The three-floor layout means there is more variety and space than most visitors expect from the street-level entrance.

What’s Included

Every entry includes a secure locker, fresh towel (additional towels available at reception), and free soft drinks. Pass-outs are included — you can leave and return on the same day. The entrance is a discreet separate door on Scott Street leading to a welcoming reception area. Staff will assist visitors with mobility issues on the stairs.

Your First Visit

No membership or pre-booking is needed — just turn up and pay at the door. You’ll receive a locker key, fresh towel, and footwear on arrival. Free soft drinks are included. Staff will explain the layout and facilities, and the three-floor design means there’s more to explore than you’d expect from the entrance.

The ground floor has all the wet areas and the bar. The first and second floors have the play and private spaces. If you want a social, relaxed session, the bar lounge and outdoor terrace are good starting points. The £5 entry rate for students and under-25s (valid ID required) makes it one of the most affordable gay saunas in the region.
