Acqua Sauna – Blackpool

Acqua Sauna Blackpool is a gay and bisexual men’s sauna at 25–27 Springfield Road, Blackpool (FY1 1QW), about two minutes’ walk from Blackpool North station via the Springfield Road exit. Managed by Adult Leisure Group (who also operate Steam Complex in Leeds and Nero’s Sauna in Bury), the venue was taken over in September 2024 and completed a full refurbishment and expansion to three floors in early 2026.

Open seven days a week, with overnight sessions on Fridays and Saturdays running until 6am as part of “Blackpool After Dark.” Membership is optional — non-members pay a flat £15, members get reduced rates from £10. Cash and card accepted.

Blackpool pulls visitors from across Lancashire and beyond, and Acqua Sauna benefits directly from that draw. Men travel from Preston (around 25 minutes by car), Lancaster (about 45 minutes), and Burnley (roughly 40 minutes) — and the venue’s Friday and Saturday overnight sessions until 6am make it a practical option for anyone already heading to Blackpool for a night out.

Whether you are a local on the Fylde Coast or just visiting for the weekend, Acqua’s position on Springfield Road — a two-minute walk from Blackpool North station — means it’s reachable without a car, which matters for visitors arriving by train from Manchester or Liverpool. For anyone searching for a gay sauna in Blackpool, Acqua is a well-established option that’s been operating on this site under various names for over two decades.

Your First Visit

Membership is optional — non-members are welcome at a flat £15 entry. If you’d like to join for reduced rates, membership can be set up on arrival (6 months £5, 12 months £8). The venue operates a Challenge 25 policy, so bring valid photo ID if you look under 25. Cash and card accepted.

On entry you’ll get a locker key, towel, and shower gel. Unlimited hot drinks, Wi-Fi, condoms and lubricant, and same-day pass-outs are all included. The café area and TV lounge make a good starting point if you want to settle in before exploring further.

Springfield Road is not directly in the Gay Village — it’s a short walk from the Queen Street area, behind the Grand Metropol Hotel. If arriving by train, use the Springfield Road exit from Blackpool North station — the venue is about two minutes on foot.

Directions

Acqua Sauna is at 25–27 Springfield Road, Blackpool, FY1 1QW — roughly 300 metres from Blackpool North station’s Springfield Road exit, making it one of the shortest station-to-sauna walks in the UK.

Use the Springfield Road exit (10-metre ramp or 9 steps) — the venue is about a two-minute walk on the same street. This is significantly shorter than using the main Talbot Road entrance.

Blackpool North is served by Avanti West Coast, Northern, and TransPennine Express. Direct services to Preston (~20 mins), Manchester Piccadilly (~1hr 15 mins), Liverpool Lime Street (~1hr 20 mins via Preston), and Manchester Airport (~1hr 35 mins, direct Northern service).

The North Station tram stop (opened June 2024) is adjacent to the railway station. Walk via the station underpass or High Street to Springfield Road — about four minutes. The North Pier tram stop on the promenade is also about a four-minute walk. Trams run every 15 minutes, £3.50 single or £6.60 day saver. Timetables: blackpooltransport.com

Blackpool is reached via the M55 from the M6 (Junction 32). For sat-nav, use FY1 1QW. No on-site parking. Queen Street Car Park (FY1 1PX) is the nearest — 3-minute walk, open 24 hours, no maximum stay, 38 spaces (from £3.50 for 2 hours). Best option for overnight visits. Houndshill Multi-Storey (Coronation Street, FY1 4NY) has 770 spaces and is a 7-minute walk.

Reviews

Acqua Sauna has undergone visible change since Adult Leisure Group took over in September 2024, and visitor feedback from the post-refurbishment period reflects a venue in active improvement.

Staff are frequently described as friendly and proactive. Management is noted for transparency — guests report being informed of any maintenance issues before entry rather than discovering them inside.

The hot tub, steam room, and rebuilt dry sauna receive consistent positive feedback for heat levels and cleanliness. The sauna was completely rebuilt in January 2026 as part of the ongoing refurbishment programme.

The overnight Friday and Saturday sessions until 6am draw the venue’s busiest crowds and are the most frequently mentioned feature in recent reviews. The all-inclusive entry model — towels, hot drinks, Wi-Fi, pass-outs — is cited as good value, particularly on member rates where evening and midweek sessions drop to £10. Multi-day passes (£35 for seven days on a member rate) are highlighted by visitors staying in Blackpool for holidays or weekends.

The café offering hot meals and barista coffee distinguishes Acqua from smaller venues and supports extended visits, especially during overnight sessions.
