About
Steamer Quay – Torquay
Steamer Quay is a gay sauna and adult relaxation venue on Rock Road in Torquay, Devon, spanning around 5,100 square feet. Established over 20 years ago and under new ownership since late 2024, the venue has undergone significant refurbishment and now runs a varied weekly programme of themed events — including dedicated sessions for gay and bisexual men, the trans community, swingers, and mixed-sex couples. Open Wednesday to Sunday, with late nights on Fridays and Saturdays until 2am.
The venue offers on-site accommodation in three rooms above the club, a hot food menu, and a BYOB alcohol policy. No membership is required.
A Gay Sauna on Devon's English Riviera — Steamer Quay Torquay
Steamer Quay is the only gay sauna in Torquay and the only one in Torbay. For men searching for a gay sauna in Torquay or a gay sauna in Devon, this is it — tucked away on Rock Road, a quiet side street off Fleet Walk in the centre of town. The venue has been running for over two decades, and its coastal setting in one of the South West’s most visited resort towns gives it a character you won’t find at any inland venue.
Devon is a large county with no other gay sauna, so Steamer Quay’s catchment stretches well beyond the bay. Exeter is about 30 minutes north on the Riviera Line or by car via the A380, and “gay sauna exeter” is one of the most common searches that leads people here. Newton Abbot is 15 minutes away, Paignton around 10 minutes by bus or train, and Totnes about 20 minutes. Plymouth is roughly an hour east along the A38, though Devon and Cornwall also have their own venue at that end of the coast. For men visiting Torbay on holiday or living anywhere in East Devon, Steamer Quay is the local option — and with overnight accommodation available above the venue, it caters to visitors who’ve made the journey and want to stay.
