About
W3 Sauna – Blackpool
W3 Sauna Blackpool (also known locally as W3 Complex or Wet Wet Wet) is a gay and bisexual men’s sauna at 3 Charles Street, Blackpool (FY1 3EJ). It’s a two-minute walk from the Gay Village around Queen Street and about five minutes from Blackpool North station and the promenade. Open since 2007, the venue is spread across multiple levels with a dry sauna, steam room, indoor jacuzzi, and an outdoor jacuzzi with wooden-decked sun terrace — one of the few outdoor spa facilities at any gay sauna in the North West. A licensed café-bar serves drinks and light refreshments, and on-site naturist massage is available daily. No membership or pre-registration is required. Open seven days a week, with extended hours on Saturdays until 10pm.
W3 Sauna is at 3 Charles Street, a two-minute walk from the Gay Village around Queen Street and about five minutes from the promenade and Blackpool North station. That places it right in the middle of Blackpool’s established LGBTQ+ quarter — closer to the bars and nightlife than any other gay sauna in Lancashire. For men searching for a gay sauna in Blackpool, W3’s location in the heart of the scene makes it a natural stop before or after a night out, and for visitors staying in the town centre, it’s walkable from most hotels and guesthouses along the front.
Blackpool’s status as a destination town means W3 sees a steady flow of visitors alongside its local regulars. Preston is about 25 minutes south by car or train, Lancaster roughly 40 minutes north, and the wider Fylde Coast — Lytham St Annes, Fleetwood, and Cleveleys — is all within 15 to 20 minutes. The outdoor jacuzzi and sun deck give the venue a distinctive edge during the warmer months, and the Gay Village location means the broader evening out is already on the doorstep. For anyone visiting Blackpool and looking for a gay sauna within walking distance of the scene, W3 is the one.
What's inside
Facilities
The ground floor has a dry sauna (seating for around 10–12), a large Turkish steam room that seats up to 13, and an indoor jacuzzi. A sun shower tanning unit is available in the changing area (from £2 for 3 minutes).
Outdoor Jacuzzi and Sun Deck at W3 Sauna
The outdoor area is a standout feature — a walled garden with a wooden-decked sun terrace and outdoor hot tub, accessed from the ground floor. It's a secluded spot for relaxing, cooling down, or sunbathing, and is popular during warmer months. Outdoor spa facilities are unusual at UK gay saunas, and this is one of the few in the North West to offer one.
Play and Cruising Areas at W3 Sauna
The first and second floors have private cabins, a darkened cinema room, glory holes, and a sling room. Secure lockers are provided with every entry.
Bar and Social Areas at W3 Sauna
A licensed café-bar on the ground floor serves drinks and light refreshments. The lounge area has comfortable seating, TV, and free internet access. The outdoor sun deck also serves as a social and smoking area.
Massage at W3 Sauna Blackpool
Naturist male massage is available daily from a qualified therapist using Swedish techniques and natural plant-based oils. Sessions are £45 for 45 minutes. Book at reception or online via the W3 website.

Blackpool is reached via the M55 from the M6 (Junction 32). Follow the M55 to its end, then Yeadon Way into the town centre. For sat-nav, use FY1 3EJ. No on-site parking. The nearest car park is Charles Street Short Stay (FY1 3EG), immediately adjacent — but note the four-hour maximum stay (ANPR-enforced), which may not suit longer visits. For all-day parking, Houndshill Multi-Storey (Coronation Street, FY1 4NY) has 770 spaces and is a five-minute walk. Most Blackpool Council car parks use the PayByPhone app.
