The Sauna Report — 39 Pages Updated as Content Audit Expands Beyond Venues

In the 11 days since our last update, the gaysaunas.co.uk content audit has shifted gear — expanding far beyond individual venue listings to overhaul event organiser pages, regional landing pages, and the full visitor guide series.

Between 4 and 14 April 2026, a total of 39 pages across the site have been updated or rebuilt from scratch. While four more venue listings received the full rewrite treatment, the bigger story is what happened around them: seven event organiser pages were created or restructured, 18 regional landing pages were refreshed, and nearly every guide in the visitor series was updated to the new editorial standard.

Four more venues overhauled

The venue audit continued with four new full rewrites, pushing the total to 22 venues now updated since the audit began on 31 March. Each listing has been rebuilt with expanded facility details, restructured opening hours, refreshed editorial content, and improved on-page SEO.

With Scotland’s two flagship venues now updated on the same day, the audit has reached every corner of the UK — from the South West coast to the Scottish Central Belt.

Event organiser pages: a new layer of the site

Perhaps the most significant development this fortnight has been the creation and restructuring of seven dedicated event organiser pages. These aren’t venue listings — they’re standalone pages for the recurring themed events that run across multiple UK saunas.

Each page follows a new card-based event template with venue details, pricing, dates, and direct links — giving visitors a proper hub for finding events rather than having to piece information together from individual venue pages.

Regional pages refreshed across the board

On 10–11 April, 18 regional and city landing pages were updated in a single sweep. Every region of England — from the North West and North East to the South East and South West — plus Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland received refreshed content. Individual city pages for London, Birmingham, Leeds, and Blackpool were also updated.

The regional pages now carry improved formatting, updated venue counts, and clearer navigation to help visitors find their nearest sauna faster. The UK-wide directory and the Near You venue finder were also updated as part of this pass.

Visitor guides updated to the new standard

The full visitor guide series — nine individual guides plus the guides hub page — was updated on 11 April. These are the core informational pages that new and returning visitors rely on, covering everything from first-visit preparation to post-visit health advice.

By the numbers

Here’s where the audit stands after this latest wave of work:

  • 39 pages updated between 4–14 April
  • 22 venue listings now fully overhauled (since 31 March)
  • 7 event organiser pages created or restructured
  • 18 regional landing pages refreshed
  • 10 visitor guide pages updated

What’s next?

The venue audit still has more listings to work through, but the pace of the broader site overhaul shows no signs of slowing. With the event organiser pages now in place and the regional pages brought up to standard, the next phase will focus on completing the remaining venue rewrites and identifying any content gaps that have emerged during the audit.

As always, if you spot anything that needs correcting on a listing or guide, the site welcomes feedback.
