Tropics Day Spa – Portsmouth

Tropics Day Spa is a men-only gay sauna and day spa at 2 Market Way, Portsmouth (PO1 4BX), in the city centre near the top of Commercial Road. One of the longest-established LGBTQ+ venues on the South Coast, it’s open seven days a week and offers two saunas, a steam room, whirlpool spa, and a rooftop terrace. The venue runs monthly Flight of Fancy events for T-Girls and admirers.

Entry is £20 standard, with discounts for 18–25s (£10) and unemployed visitors (£12). Full-day access is included with every entry, and the venue operates a pass-out scheme for same-day re-admission. All visitors must be 18 or over — photo ID may be requested.

Hampshire's Gay Sauna: Tropics Day Spa Portsmouth

Tropics Day Spa is the only gay sauna in Portsmouth and the only one in Hampshire. For men searching for a gay sauna in Portsmouth or a gay sauna near Portsmouth, this is the sole venue covering the county and a large stretch of the South Coast between Brighton and Bournemouth. The venue sits on Market Way in the city centre, just off Commercial Road — Portsmouth’s main shopping street — making it easy to find on foot from Portsmouth & Southsea station.

Hampshire is a densely populated county with no other dedicated venue, so Tropics draws from well beyond the PO postcode. Fareham and Gosport are both within 15 minutes, Southampton around 30 minutes west along the M27, and Chichester about 20 minutes east on the A27. Visitors from the Isle of Wight can reach Portsmouth Harbour via the Wightlink ferry from Ryde (around 22 minutes) or the Fishbourne–Portsmouth car ferry, with the venue a short bus ride or taxi from the terminal. Winchester is roughly 35 minutes north. For men along the central South Coast who don’t want to travel to Brighton or London, Tropics is the local answer.
