Sauna Sauna – Northwich

Sauna Sauna Northwich is the UK’s largest gay sauna and leisure complex, spanning a reported 17,000 square feet across two floors at Winnington Lane in Northwich, Cheshire. Established in 2005, the venue caters to gay, bisexual, and curious men and operates as both a wellness facility and a social cruise club. It draws visitors from across Manchester, Liverpool, Blackpool, Leeds, Birmingham, and the wider North West. The venue is open Tuesday to Thursday and at weekends, with themed events running on most days. Entry is pay-on-the-door with no membership or pre-registration required. A large free car park with space for over 90 vehicles sits adjacent to the building.

Sauna Sauna is the only dedicated gay sauna in Northwich and the wider Cheshire area. It’s a regional hub for gay, bisexual, and curious men travelling from across the North West — with regular visitors making the journey from Manchester (around 30 minutes by car), Liverpool (45 minutes), Chester (20 minutes), and Blackpool (around an hour). For anyone searching for a gay sauna in Cheshire, this is it.

The venue’s location on Winnington Lane, just off the A533, makes it straightforward to reach by car. A large free car park with over 90 spaces sits adjacent to the building — a practical advantage for visitors who value discretion and want to avoid the hassle of city-centre parking. There is no direct public transport to the venue, so driving is the recommended option for most visitors.

Your First Visit

No membership or pre-registration is needed — just turn up and pay at the door. Cash and card are both accepted. The venue operates an 18+ policy; bring valid photo ID if you look under 25.

Given the size of the building, allow at least three to four hours to explore all areas. Staff offer a guided tour on arrival for first-timers, which is worth taking — the two-floor layout is large enough that you’ll want to know where everything is before you settle in. The Early Bird entry rate (£19, arrival before 17:00) provides the longest possible session.

Reviews

Sauna Sauna Northwich is defined by its scale. At 17,000 square feet across two floors, it offers a degree of privacy and variety that smaller urban saunas cannot match, and visitors regularly highlight the size as the venue’s most distinctive feature.

The sheer size of the building creates a dynamic environment with multiple distinct zones. Visitors appreciate the room to explore and settle into a longer session, with the layout offering space and variety that is rarely matched elsewhere.

Staff at reception are noted for being friendly and approachable. The option of a guided tour on arrival is particularly useful for first-time visitors navigating the large layout.

The facilities are consistently described as clean and well-maintained despite the significant scale of the building.

The venue cultivates a body-positive and non-judgemental atmosphere across all its events, with a diverse mix of ages and body types contributing to an environment that is welcoming to newcomers.
