Steam Complex – Leeds

Steam Complex is a gay and bisexual men’s sauna at Ledgard Way in Armley, Leeds (LS12 2ND), about ten minutes from the city centre by bus or taxi. Operated by Adult Leisure Group, the venue spans multiple floors and is one of the largest all-male saunas in the North of England.

Facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool, a large dry sauna, a commercial-grade jacuzzi, private cabins, cinema rooms, a dungeon room, and a fully licensed café-bar serving hot meals and drinks. Open seven days a week, with late-night sessions on Tuesdays until 10pm and Thursdays until midnight. A free car park with over 60 spaces sits directly adjacent to the building.

Membership is required for entry and can be set up at reception on arrival. The venue explicitly welcomes trans men and operates a published Code of Conduct and Inclusion Policy that prohibits misgendering, identity questioning, and discrimination based on gender reassignment under the Equality Act 2010.

Steam Complex sits at Unit 2, Ledgard Way, in Armley — about a mile and a half west of Leeds city centre, ten minutes by bus or taxi. That position, combined with a free car park of over 60 spaces directly adjacent to the building, makes it one of the most practically accessible gay saunas in the North of England for anyone driving in. Visitors regularly travel from Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Halifax, York, and further afield down the A1(M) corridor — city-centre parking isn't a factor, and for men coming by rail, Leeds station is served by LNER (London King's Cross in about two hours ten), TransPennine, CrossCountry, and Northern regional services. Local buses from Leeds City Bus Station — the 14, 15, 72, 86, 508, and X6 — all stop within walking distance of Ledgard Way. Operated by Adult Leisure Group, Steam Complex is one of the largest all-male saunas in the North of England, and for many visitors across Yorkshire it's the default West Yorkshire choice.

Reviews

Steam Complex draws regular feedback as one of the largest gay saunas in the North of England, with visitors highlighting the scale and variety of the facilities, the themed events programme, and the convenience of free parking.

The breadth of facilities is the most frequently mentioned positive. A heated indoor swimming pool, large dry sauna, commercial-grade jacuzzi, multiple cinema rooms, private cabins, and a dungeon room give the venue a range that few regional gay saunas can match. The multi-floor layout creates distinct zones for relaxation and play, and the scale means the venue rarely feels overcrowded.

The weekly themed sessions — particularly Naked Tuesday, Biphoria Thursday, and the monthly Sauna Bears — are consistently cited as a reason for repeat visits. Visitors appreciate being able to choose a day that matches the atmosphere they prefer.

The free car park with over 60 spaces is regularly mentioned as a significant convenience, especially for visitors driving in from outside Leeds. The discreet entrance is also noted positively.

The café-bar receives positive feedback for its food menu, licensed bar, and the inclusion of free tea and coffee with every entry. The lounge is described as a comfortable social space for taking a break between sessions.
